Composition: Piperacillin 4 GM ,Tazobactum 500 mg Injection.

Indication/Use of (Grosyn TZ  4.5) Piperacillin 4 gm,Tazobactum 500 mg Injection:

• Nosocomial pneumonia

• Systemic & local infections

• Pre operative prophylaxis

• Gynecological infections

• U.T.I

• Neonatal & life threatening paediatric infections

• Burns

• Septicemia

• Community-acquired pneumonia

• Appendicitis (complicated by rupture or abscess)

• Uncomplicated and complicated skin and skin structure infections

• Postpartum endometritis or pelvic inflammatory disease

• Peritonitis

• Lower respiratory tract infections

• Infection in neutropenic patients

• Intra abdominal infection

Drug interaction of (Grosyn TZ  4.5) Piperacillin 4 gm,Tazobactum 500 mg Injection:

• Inactivate aminoglycoside

• Synergistic with cephalosporins

Side effects  of (Grosyn TZ  4.5) Piperacillin 4 gm,Tazobactum 500 mg Injection:

• High dose may cause bleeding by interfering with platelet function.

Dosage  of (Grosyn TZ  4.5) Piperacillin 4 gm,Tazobactum 500 mg Injection:

• The usual total daily doses for adults is 12/1.5 gm 7 to 10 days given 4.5 gm every 8 hrs.
